09/11 12H02:37 – WORLD TRADE CENTER, NEW YORK, 2001

On the 11ᵗʰ of September 2001, by some freak of chance, I found myself near the World Trade Center in New York, carrying one of the first digital Canon cameras. Everyone was walking away from it, but I felt compelled to record such an important event and proceeded to walk toward the towers.

This image, captured at 12h02:37, feels to me so poignant that it needs no further explanation. Everyone who was alive that day — wherever they were in the world — remembers what they were doing, as if that moment imprinted a permanent mark on mankind.

If ordered as a fine art print: printed on premium baryta paper. If ordered mounted and framed: printed on premium baryta paper, mounted on 1 mm aluminium collage and framed in a black US Box profile. Framing adds 3.5 cm to both the height and width.

Le 11ᵉ septembre 2001, par un hasard étrange, je me trouvais près du World Trade Center à New York, muni de l’un des premiers appareils photo numériques Canon. Tandis que tout le monde s’en éloignait, j’ai ressenti le besoin de témoigner de cet événement majeur et j’ai marché en direction des tours.

Cette image, enregistrée à 12h02:37, me semble d’une telle intensité qu’elle ne nécessite aucune autre explication. Tous ceux qui étaient en vie ce jour-là — où qu’ils se trouvent dans le monde — se souviennent de ce qu’ils faisaient, comme si cet instant avait gravé une marque indélébile dans l’humanité.

Si commandé en tirage fine art : imprimé sur papier baryté de qualité supérieure. Si commandé monté et encadré : imprimé sur papier baryté de qualité supérieure, contrecollé sur aluminium 1 mm et encadré dans une caisse américaine noire. L’encadrement ajoute 3,5 cm à la hauteur et à la largeur.
