ELEMENTAL ABSTRACTION, PARACAS, PERU, 2014

I am fascinated by form and illusion. I love to look at things that one might consider ordinary and present them in a different way — by pulling far back to create a kind of macro vision, or, on the contrary, by approaching them almost microscopically, from an angle one would not normally consider.

I aim to reveal another vision of something otherwise ordinary — what I call extra-ordinary abstraction, in which the observer can let their imagination run wild and see whatever they choose to see.

If ordered as a fine art print: printed on premium baryta paper. If ordered mounted and framed: printed on premium baryta paper, mounted on 1 mm aluminium collage and framed in a black US Box profile. Framing adds 3.5 cm to both the height and width.

Je suis fasciné par la forme et l’illusion. J’aime observer des choses que l’on pourrait considérer comme ordinaires et les présenter autrement — en prenant beaucoup de recul pour créer une sorte de vision macroscopique, ou au contraire, en m’en approchant presque de manière microscopique, sous un angle que l’on ne considérerait pas habituellement.

Mon intention est de révéler une autre vision de ce qui semble ordinaire — ce que j’appelle l’abstraction extra-ordinaire, où l’observateur peut laisser libre cours à son imagination et voir ce qu’il ou elle choisit d’y voir.

Si commandé en tirage fine art : imprimé sur papier baryté de qualité supérieure. Si commandé monté et encadré : imprimé sur papier baryté de qualité supérieure, contrecollé sur aluminium 1 mm et encadré dans une caisse américaine noire. L’encadrement ajoute 3,5 cm à la hauteur et à la largeur.
