LADY BOY.2017.

Mixed techniques on canvas, photography printed on Mulberry paper, collage and acrylic paint. 65 x 54 cm – American box frame in black tainted oak wood.

Ladyboy weaves together two original photographs I took in Phnom Penh: a glamorous ladyboy performer in a nightclub and a stoic military guard. Torn into long vertical strips, the two images are interleaved like alternating threads — a kinetic interplay of gender, power, presence, and seduction. Over this fusion, I painted a constellation of white points, delicate and deliberate, veiling the surface with hidden symbols: phallic forms, sparkling jewels, and silent currents of light.

Intended as a visual tension held in harmony — masculine and feminine, force and fragility, intimacy and control. Opposites reconciled  in a complex choreography of contrasts. As in all my work, the guiding thread remains the dialectical reconciliation of opposites — the deep belief that beauty, like truth, emerges from the places where contradiction breathes.

Ladyboy tisse deux photographies originales prises à Phnom Penh : une performeuse ladyboy dans un club nocturne et un garde militaire impassible. Déchirées en longues bandes verticales, les images s’entrelacent comme les fils d’un tissu — un jeu cinétique entre genre, pouvoir, présence et séduction. Sur cette fusion, j’ai peint une constellation de points blancs, délicats et précis, dissimulant des symboles subtils : formes phalliques, joyaux scintillants, et courants lumineux silencieux.

L’intention: une tension visuelle maintenue en équilibre — masculin et féminin, force et fragilité, intimité et contrôle. Ces contraires se reconcilient dans une chorégraphie complexe de contrastes. Comme dans toute mon œuvre, le fil conducteur demeure la réconciliation dialectique des contraires — la conviction profonde que la beauté, comme la vérité, naît des lieux où la contradiction respire.
