PANDORA’S BOX (AUTOPORTRAIT). 2017

In therapy I told my therapist of my fear that if I let my tears and feelings out of my mind it would be like the opening of Pandora’s box.. the tears and pain would be unlimited and I would never be able to shut that box again. She said : ‘I have a big box of tissues just waiting for you right here’… but I never managed to cry in front of her… but oh, how I cried alone. Those tears washed my eyes and watered my soul and from the pain, I grew…

Mixed techniques on Canson paper. Original photography printed on archival matt paper, Indian ink, collage and acrylic paint. 66 x 102 cm without the frame, wood frame behind glass – 72 x 109 cm.

BOITE DE PANDORE (AUTOPORTRAIT). 2017

En thérapie, j’ai expliqué à ma thérapeute que j’avais peur que, si je laissais sortir mes larmes et mes émotions, ce serait comme ouvrir la boîte de Pandore… que les larmes et la douleur seraient infinies, et que je ne pourrais jamais refermer cette boîte.

Elle m’a répondu : « J’ai une grande boîte de mouchoirs qui t’attend juste ici. »

…Mais je n’ai jamais réussi à pleurer devant elle.

Oh, mais comme j’ai pleuré seul.
Ces larmes ont lavé mes yeux et arrosé mon âme,
et de cette douleur, j’ai grandi.

Technique mixte sur papier Canson, tirage photographique sur papier, encre de Chine, colllage et acrylique. 66 x 102 cm . Cadre sous verre (72 x 109 cm)
